How is Urban Hybrid artificial grass installed?

Installation method 1:
Avalon Urban Hybrid is installed on an existing natural grass mat.

1. Measure and mark the area where Avalon Urban Hybrid will be laid and make the surface stone- and weed-free.
2. Mow the grass lower than 2.5cm.
3. Rake the natural grass mat loose with a hand rake or scarifier.
Dress the lawn with soil or sand depending on how the old ground structure looks like.
Support the grass with extra seeds and fertilizer.
4. Roll out the Avalon Urban Hybrid rolls on the raked grass. Allow 5% to 10% stretching when anchoring the mat.
5. Stretch the artificial grass evenly and anchor the mat with the biodegradable pins provided.
6. This method of installation is low-impact which allows you to create a reinforced natural grass mat within 8 weeks.

Installation method 2:
Avalon Urban Hybrid is installed on a surface prepared and sown for natural grass.

1. Measure and mark the area where Avalon Urban Hybrid will be laid and make the surface stone- and weed-free.
2. Prepare the soil for natural grass and spread the grass seed.
Use soil and sand, then use a whacker on the surface to make the ground firm.
Use a rake to make small furrows in the ground before you spred the seeds as well.
3. Roll out the Avalon Urban Hybrid rolls on the ground. Allow for 5% to 10% stretching when anchoring the mat.
4. Stretch the artificial grass evenly and anchor the mat with the biodegradable pins provided.
5. After a week, the first natural grass will start to grow through the artificial grass. Within 12 weeks, the grass will be ready for its first mowing.
You can mow the grass earlier if you use a small walk-behind mower. This will make the lawn denser.
